Jail General Information




In February 2018 The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and Correctional Facility opened its doors at the new complex. Our facility is state of the art and has a 114-bed capacity. Thirty of those beds are reserved for females, while the rest are for male population. We are a full-service jail offering inmates programs and activities such as but not limited to Drug and Alcohol Counseling, medical services, recreational activities, commissary, and work within the confines of the facility.


Inmate Information
Visitation


Onsite visitation is conducted using the video terminals located in the facility’s visitation center from which the inmate is housed. You can use the button above to register then schedule a visit or you can use the kiosk in the visitation room at the facility. Inmates are permitted one 30-minute visit per week. There is a maximum of 3 visitors at one time allowed including children. The visit must be scheduled 48 hours in advance. Available times for visitation range from 8am to 8:30pm with segregation visitation from 8:30pm to 9:30pm. It is preferred that you arrive 10 minutes prior to the visit. If you are more than 10 minutes late the visit will be terminated. Visitors must provide a valid photo ID if not the visit may be terminated. Any minors visiting must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. Inappropriate clothing, such as transparent clothing, halter tops, excessively tight or revealing clothing, hats and bandannas or any other clothes associated with a criminal gang or otherwise deemed by the staff to be unacceptable, will not be permitted. All personal items including cell phones are not permitted inside of the visitation area. All visitation rules are posted in the visitation area.

Accounts
Money can be deposited into an inmates account in one of three ways. First, money can be deposited by using the kiosk in the lobby of the Sheriff’s Office. The kiosk will accept credit or debit cards and cash only in denominations of $5,10,20,50, and 100-dollar bills. Second, money can be deposited by calling the following toll-free number 1(866)345-1884. Third, money can be deposited by using a credit or debit card at the following web address www.inmatedeposits.com. Please do not mail any personal checks or money orders to our facility as they will be promptly returned.

Letters written in anything other than pen, pencil, or typed, envelopes containing more than 10 pictures, pictures containing nudity, any computer print outs from websites, inmate to inmate correspondence, or any unknown or foreign substance located on/in the inside of the envelope (perfume, cologne, lipstick, glitter, stickers, etc.) may all be returned to sender.
Telephone Services

Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA)
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and Correctional Facility has a “zero tolerance” policy for inmate sexual assault/abuse and will make every effort to provide all inmates with a safe, humane, and secure environment free from the threat of sexual assault/abuse and staff sexual misconduct/harassment. Incidents or suspicions of sexual abuse, sexual harassment and retaliation can be reported to any staff member verbally or in writing. There will be no retaliation for reporting incident of sexual abuse or harassment. Family and friends can report allegations of sexual abuse, sexual harassment, and retaliation on behalf of an inmate by calling 1(740)472-1612 and selecting option 6. In compliance with Section 115.89(b) of the PREA Standards, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and Correctional Facility will make all aggregated sexual abuse data readily available to the public annually through this website.

Volunteer Information
Any clergy members wishing to volunteer for the purpose of holding religious services within the Monroe County Correctional Facility are encouraged to stop by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Monday through Friday 8am to 4pm and fill out a volunteer application.
